Week 2- Last Week of Training
Galatians 6:9-10 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
The build this week was both mentally and physically strenuous. We built the house on the side of a mountain and so that added a level of difficulty to the entirety of our build. We had to carry all the tools and materials up the mountainside to even get to the location of the house. We also had to hand-pour the cement to create the foundation of the house because it was not reachable by a cement truck. We carried hundreds of buckets of gravel and sand up the side of the mountain before we could even start the hand pour. Click here to see a video of us creating an assembly line to get the material to the location of the house. After getting the materials for the cement up the mountainside, we still had to level the ground which is much more difficult on a mountain because instead of moving dirt, we had to pickaxe at rock. I was even more excited to dedicate the house to this family because we really did have to put a lot of work into this house. There was every opportunity for our team to become weary as the house seemed more and more difficult to compete, but we kept our heads up. This build was very rewarding because of the perseverance and effort that we had to put into building this house. When I got to the end of the week and we were handing over the keys of the house to the family I knew that all the work that went into the house was worth it. The house will make a big difference in their lives, but the house is only a temporary gift. When we dedicate the house to them, we also share the word of God, and that is an eternal gift.
Thank you for everyone's support, love, and prayers! I could not be here doing what I am if it were not for you all. I love what I am doing, and I am so excited to lead builds, starting tomorrow, Monday 5/29.
